OVERVIEW & CONSENT

Markd is developed and operated by Altus IX ('we,' 'us,' or 'our').

This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use our minimalist habit-tracking application.

By downloading, accessing, or using Markd, you agree to the practices described in this notice. This policy is effective as of April 24, 2026.

1. WHAT INFORMATION DO WE COLLECT?

Personal information you disclose to us: We collect personal information that you voluntarily provide to us when you express interest in obtaining information about us, or when you contact us directly.

The personal information we collect may include: email addresses, contact data, and authentication data (such as Google Sign-In details).

Application Data: If you use Markd, we may collect mobile device data (Device ID, model, manufacturer, OS version, and IP address). This is primarily needed to maintain security, troubleshoot, and for internal analytics.

Push Notifications: We may request to send you push notifications regarding your account or certain features. You can opt out of these in your device settings at any time.

Google API: Our use of information received from Google APIs (such as Google Drive for habit backups) will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

2. HOW DO WE PROCESS YOUR INFORMATION?

We process your information to provide, improve, and administer Markd, to communicate with you, for security and fraud prevention, and to comply with legal obligations.

Specific processing purposes include: facilitating account creation and authentication, providing habit-tracking services, processing your Markd Pro subscriptions via RevenueCat/Google Play, and managing data synchronization via Google Drive.

3. WHEN AND WITH WHOM DO WE SHARE YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION?

We may share information in specific situations, such as business transfers (mergers or asset sales) or with specific third-party service providers.

Third-Party Service Providers: We use RevenueCat to process subscriptions and Google Play Services for app functionality. These third parties have their own privacy policies regarding how they handle your data.

Legal Obligations: We may share your information where we are legally required to do so to comply with applicable law, governmental requests, or judicial proceedings.

4. HOW DO WE HANDLE YOUR SOCIAL LOGINS?

Markd offers you the ability to register and log in using third-party social media details (like Google Sign-In).

When you choose this, we receive certain profile information from the provider, such as your name and email address. We use this information only for the purposes described in this Privacy Notice.

Please note that we do not control, and are not responsible for, other uses of your personal information by your third-party social media provider.

5. IS YOUR INFORMATION TRANSFERRED INTERNATIONALLY?

Our servers and operations are primarily located in India. Regardless of your location, your information may be transferred to, stored, and processed by us in our facilities and those of our third-party partners.

We take all necessary measures to protect your personal information in accordance with this Privacy Notice and applicable data protection laws, regardless of where the data is processed.

6. HOW LONG DO WE KEEP YOUR INFORMATION?

We keep your personal information for as long as it is necessary for the purposes set out in this Privacy Notice, unless a longer retention period is required by law (such as tax or accounting requirements).

When we have no ongoing legitimate business need to process your information, we will either delete or anonymize it. Backup archives (such as those in your Google Drive) are isolated until deletion is possible.

7. HOW DO WE KEEP YOUR INFORMATION SAFE?

We have implemented appropriate technical and organizational security measures designed to protect the security of any personal information we process.

However, no electronic transmission over the internet or information storage technology can be guaranteed to be 100% secure. Transmission of personal information to and from the app is at your own risk.

8. DO WE COLLECT INFORMATION FROM MINORS?

We do not knowingly collect data from or market to children under 18 years of age. By using Markd, you represent that you are at least 18 or the parent/guardian of a minor using the service.

If we learn that personal information from users less than 18 years of age has been collected, we will deactivate the account and take reasonable measures to promptly delete such data.

9. WHAT ARE YOUR PRIVACY RIGHTS?

Depending on your location, you may have rights such as: (i) requesting access to your personal data, (ii) requesting correction or deletion, and (iii) withdrawing consent for processing.

You can exercise these rights at any time by contacting us at altusixstudio@gmail.com. We will consider and act upon any request in accordance with applicable data protection laws.

10. CONTROLS FOR DO-NOT-TRACK FEATURES

Most web browsers and some mobile operating systems include a Do-Not-Track ('DNT') feature. At this stage, no uniform technology standard for recognizing DNT signals has been finalized.

As such, we do not currently respond to DNT signals. If a standard is adopted that we must follow in the future, we will inform you in a revised version of this notice.

11. DO WE MAKE UPDATES TO THIS NOTICE?

Yes, we will update this notice as necessary to stay compliant with relevant laws. The updated version will be indicated by the 'Last updated' date at the top of the notice.
